all the little things!

completed tons of little things today, coolant hoses, bypasses, vac hoses, returns, lots of little things that needed to get done, got a belt that fits in 2 trys! must be a new record for guessing, also found a lower radiator hose that fits awesome just looking at the rack haha

also picked up two 180 deg 3 inch exhaust pipes from my friend, and made a downpipe with 2 bungs (one for stock computer narrowband, and one for wideband for tuning) and that fits awesome surprisingly hah.

all that is left to do is clean up under the car, there is coolant and antifreeze that needs, then i get to crawl under there and install the trans cooler and wire up the tranny cooler fan.

then test everything out, fire it up and warm it up hah, all goes well drive it around this week

nearly there! all the little things!

i have a video update coming, been busy with this car, the truck and some other cars etc haha hard to get one thing settled, driveshaft cut down fits great, did the intercooler piping and many other things today buttoning everything up with the coolant hoses, vac lines, you name it, trying to get it all completed before i have it ready and have to deal with em.

need to get some trans cooler line for sure and hook up that pig somewhere now.

here are some pics of the state i am in!

New driveshaft fits great

Had it cut down 3/4 inch. Associated trucking did it for free since they didn't have to retube it. Awesome

fairmont is running!

i am going to wire trans connector into the shifter connector, then ill have park safety, also the other 2 wires are the reverse lights, so ill wire those into the reverse switch on the shifter, viola, i wired my fan to the ECU today, and the damn low speed seems like its burned out, luckily the fans are easy to find the high speed still is a beast also

i wired the pump to key on and the starter up, buttoned up a few things and fired the car, it fired no problem but i soon heard fluids gushing out haha, i thought it might be coolant, turned it off, and alas, i have not done anything with the trans cooler lines yet, doh!

nice big puddle. oh well at least everything else seems right for now! hopefully driveshaft tomorrow and a lower coolant hose that fits, warm this thing up and get a downpipe built

going good!

finished hotside, more wiring, driveshaft too long, FEK

well the damn driveshaft is too long, i measured it too long, fawk,
going to drop that off tomorrow, that is the first time i have fucked one up haha damnit

anyway i did more wiring, ripped out the steering column wiring and neutral and reverse safety wiring etc. got the ford starter wire to kick with the two wires for the trans bridged, now this is interesting, it has like 6v, then when you key it hits 12...

now i have this wired to a relay and it is working, but i wonder if the car running will make more than 6v and hit the starter on its own? anyone ever mess with the stock starter switch?

anyway i finished the hotside and bolted it up, installed the other side spark plugs and etc, had to bend the fuel rail feed out of the way it was hitting the connectors on a clutch pack for cyl 5. easy fix.

installed the wastegate, and bolted up the oil feed and drain, bolted the turbo to the turbo kit for now also.

its all together just have to do the drain and get the rest of the wires working, upper rad hose fits, lower rad hose not that great, going to try another one from auto/advanced again.

anyway here are pics of my latest pigbin hotside

truck fun, not fun of course

pulling more out of the truck... i yanked the cam today, with a dowel in place, and the loosest lifter in the world went strait to the windage tray, lol! first time that has ever happpened, so that sucked, had to pull the pan and tray, luckily i could do that while it was installed, wasnt too bad, then tore off the cyl head and reinstalled it after i got the cam in, and everything seems good now haha, got the rest of it buttoned up and started filling the block, gotta bolt up the converter and then starter and see if she fires.

i got a bunch done after work today

i swapped out the 5 lug moser 31 spline axles and installed 4 lug 31 splines so i could install the stock 10 hole wheels, wich i have spares for also, wich i love... so happy to have them back ahha

neat note, you can put the 4 lug drums from the 7.5 inch rear, right on the 8.8 rear, they are the same thing.

also installed the sumped factory tank, my friend mike did a great job.
i also bled the brakes as good as i could by myself.

mounted the intercooler, started on piping, ran the psi harness thru the firewall, picked up new 5 lug rear rims and tires that are stock appearing, bolted in the mock up 80e to build a mount for it next, and the explorer pinion knuckle
