more progress and being a ricer

got my oil fitting, welded it shut and drilled it to restrict the feed to the turbo, separated the housings and bolted it down with spray RTV and a gasket, then bolted the turbo into its home and connected the oil line.

then my dad cut out the hood and we painted a stripe to contrast the hood sticking out haha.

still gotta do the crossover and some other things but its going good!

started building the hotside for the single turbo

i prefer single turbos to twins, this is going faster than i expected.
i will need some couplers though and to get my turbo compressor outlet welded up with a standard 3 inch pipe also.

took coreys mustang to the track

the 2013 with the nitrous and gears on it.

did pretty good with an 11.44 @ 119.96 or so, 1.57 60ft, car feels like it has something left on the table, either the tune or a little rich on the nitrous, great first passes in the car though, 12.33 on motor at 113mph.

a little tuneup today on mikes 5.3 notch

did a little tune up for a friend today,
i wired this car months ago when they were swapping it, so i did the final drivability and boost tuning today.

completely stock 5.3, stock head bolts, stock valve springs, paper head gaskets you name it, ls1 intake, 80lb injectors, MS1 and 6010 box, 9lbs of boost its an animal, i am looking forward to seeing how she does at the dyno and the track

oh yes, he lives 2 hours away in MD and got over 20mpg on the way home, all highway with a 3 speed unlocked th400....

2500 on the rollers

well, successful dyno trip, lots of interesting things happened let me try to get this all down without being confusing...

wideband has been showing up funny, just very jagged, and driving funny at times, like light cruise and under boost sometimes its lazy, breaking up, only shows an 11.50 or so, but sounds like its terribly rich.

first pull or two on the dyno, breaking up quite a bit.

ended up moving the wideband to where the factory narrow bands were. way up in the header, totally different air fuels, rolling into the gas pedal produces easy 10.0 submarine air fuels, after trimming it out, i got it to 480rwhp, at 12psi 12deg with stupid amounts of tq, i threw in 2 deg and it made 513rwhp.

now we figured everything is good, pulling clean, plenty of fuel, lets leave 12deg and go strait for some boost, hooked up shop air to a regulator and added 5psi to the tops of the gates, no change in boost, 10psi to the tops of the gates, 2psi of boost, right to 20 PSI on the tops of the wastegates made 4 more psi totalling 16psi...

it made 576rwhp 5000rpm and 800ftlbs of tq at 3000rpm.
so the turbos are totally done, and producing a TON of backpressure if i need to push on them that hard 20psi on top to make barely 4 psi of boost! crazy!

here is a pull on the rollers

i think i am going to totally change the turbo kit sadly, just not happy with the turbos, my oil return setup that has worked fine in the past is being a total whore also, tons of oil in the piping, under the truck, in the exhaust etc.

starting fresh, going to mount a gt45 i have laying around and see how she does up front.

nitrous kit on the 13 GT

installed a nitrous kit on the 13 GT today, hopefully getting the tires mounted soon and we will take it out and give it a blast and see how it does.
