4l80e forcing third gear mod at the track (sloppy trans brake)

well it works! i am happy to report it works really really well haha
the track was just not there tonight, non prepped friday night, couldn't hold anything.

here is a clip of a data log showing i could hit 4600rpm and 15psi at the line!

long video of the night

short video of just the lass pass and 3rd gear mod working

tons done today, even drove the truck around

fuel rail spacers yesterday from lowes haha, trans filter for the 80e, put the pan on the 80e, its ready to go.
put the last coupler i needed on the front end and got all the clamps on it, put the grille and everything back on, buttoned and zip tied everything, installed the wideband in the car, even checked the fluid and took it for a drive, in the video i dont have the reference hooked up to the wastegate, later i got it plugged in and it makes 12psi right now but the stock fuel pump cant keep up with that at all.

drilled and tapped the intake piping for the meth kit.
going to finish that up this weekend when we do the 80e swap and also drop the stock fuel tank and install the walbro 400 in the tank.

should be ready to get nuts soon!

Truck updates

ran today on stock injectors after downpipe was done, only have a few small things then ill be running it on the 80s and speed density tomorrow, then hopefully everything for the 80e comes in this week and i can do the 80e swap on my friends lift, and do the 400lph in the tank on the lift too, on the weekend. i think we might see some positive manifold pressure tomorrow... ill take it easy on the 60e and stock pump.

got a bunch done on the truck today

oil feed and drain, wastegate on the crossover pipe, crossover installed, cold side nearly done just waiting on a coupler or two, going to do the downpipe and fuel injectors tomorrow i think.

truck getting there!

for not working on it a whole lot, its coming together super fast, i have the intercooler done in the right side to the throttle and i am waiting on some ebay couplers for the left side from turbo to intercooler, after that i just need to finish the valvesprings on the right, and extend the cam position sensor pickup to the new front sensor, and then install the injectors and pigtails for the injectors

then its oil feed and drain time and fire the motor and start tuning
once its running decent and seems good we will go ahead and swap in the 80e and get the driveshaft done. because we are still waiting about a week or two for the circle D converter to come in

launching tricks and street slicks!

got my mickey Thompson drag radials today!

and i think i got this force to 3rd gear mod working awesome
i can brake stand 3800 without spinning the street tires on the smooth concrete in my garage, didnt try for more yet but that should help leave at the track hahah

i can flip a switch while staging to put the car into 3rd gear, so i can get the converter much higher, and hopefully launch harder when i flip the switch and it goes back into first

modified junkyard 80e for troys truck

my friend corey who has done all our 80e transmissions did the one for troys pickup today, super super clean trans, looks like new inside hahha

58x notch running good

finally have the 58x gen4 motor the LY6 running good now with a beta test box from EFI source, for whatever reason our setup was super sensitive with firing spark C and D not sure if others have had this problem, but changing the resistence in the CD output pullup resistors has helped so far, good enough to make some baseline pulls on franks dyno and we netted over 600hp on 14psi, and 640whp with a clean pull

fairmont and truck updates

well we swapped in a 94 GT master cyl and the brake pedal is way better, feels awesome.
also doing some testing with interrupting the stock IAT wire to screw up the ignition settings in the computer for help brake standing the car, that is also working!

wired in a button for reverse lights since my shifter doesn't have provisions and i thought it would be easier haha, also replaced the heater core in the car, so awesome, so easy to do in this car, just swap it out right behind the glove box, so nice to have heat again haha..

started putting in the valvesprings i got for troys truck, and mocking up the hotside, going to go quick i think!

well that fits pretty nice!

mock up and some trimming and this thing looks close to factory.... right?

useless things for the interior

put the boost gauge and stereo from my truck in my fairmont today, so i would have some things to mess with and watch while drive haha

isky cam track pass 10.74 @ 135

well corey and i loaded up the car, drove 1.5 hours down to Etown raceway, tech'd in and we lined up to race, i drove the car this time, it started to drizzle so i figured whatever happens ill just stay in it to get the mph.

first pass i didnt brake stand enough but it is my first pass in the car haha, it went 10.74 @ 135mph, we dont have any other instrumentals because they were pissed i went that fast and refused to give me a time slip. we think it was a 1.8x you can see how soft it was.

other than that awesome that the car picked up an easy 9mph in the 1/4 with just the cam swap.
crazy

here is video corey shot with his cell phone, best i can do.

Ebdlessly messed with the brakes today

After having limited success bleeding the to dodge master cylinders we abandon hope and had to go back to the stock master cylinder in order to get the brakes to work because we wanted to go to the track on Sunday. On a good note the entire front and braking system has been replaced.
