time for the 5.3 to go together
today we made some room, pushed the cars back, had to replace the caster wheel on the engine hoist, then we moved the painted 5.3, installed valvesprings, studded the motor, removing one head bolt at a time then installing the studs, once the studs and springs were installed we did the cam. This time after pulling the balancer i used a LS7 crank bolt wich is longer than a truck bolt, pulled the balancer right on no problem then you finish with the truck bolt, man this worked so well i dont know why i have never done it, like it was meant to do it, crazy how i have never heard of it till my friend john said something about it, thats the way he does it.
either way the motor is back in the yellow car already with the reiners engine mounts ready for the turbo kit tomorrow.

swapped to the correct cam gear today after all this time haha
so i found out recently i was using the wrong cam gear, this whole time,
i used a page on lingenfelters website, where it showed what cam gear is
needed with each year motor car, cam etc, and well i was using the 4x
event gear, for the 58tooth motor, when i should have had the 1x, with
the 24tooth motor that i have, oh well, i swapped it in today and guess
what the car starts normally, every time now, oh well, i cant believe the
car actually ran lol
