time for the 5.3 to go together
today we made some room, pushed the cars back, had to replace the caster wheel on the engine hoist, then we moved the painted 5.3, installed valvesprings, studded the motor, removing one head bolt at a time then installing the studs, once the studs and springs were installed we did the cam. This time after pulling the balancer i used a LS7 crank bolt wich is longer than a truck bolt, pulled the balancer right on no problem then you finish with the truck bolt, man this worked so well i dont know why i have never done it, like it was meant to do it, crazy how i have never heard of it till my friend john said something about it, thats the way he does it.
either way the motor is back in the yellow car already with the reiners engine mounts ready for the turbo kit tomorrow.

fairmont 3 and 4 updates (video uploading now, will post when ready!)
3.0 waiting on head studs and springs, then going back in the yellow car, black and grey car already has old 4.8 and turbo kit installed and ready to rock, waiting on sumped stock tank, and we are going to put the 60e yolk on the stock drive shaft and use the stock rear for fun, here is how they both sit for now

fairmont 3 and 4 switcherooo
Due to rediculous import fees, i will not be selling the 3.0 car to my mexican friend, he has estimates over 3300 dollars so far in import fees and taxes etc, Honestly i just feel bad sticking him with that kinda bill, and i like the car, so i will keep it for now, what i am going to do now is, pull the weak point out of it wich is the gen3 4.8 and smaller turbo, and install the 5.3 i have and the better turbo and hotside and go nuts.
the black car is getting the 4.8 and a ls1 cam i have laying around and we will see how that does with the 60e, stock driveshaft and 7.5 rear end.
so that is the new experiment, saturday corey and i pulled the 4.8, removed the cam, and installed the ls1 cam, and installed it all back into the black car, going to be studding, and installing the isky cam, and then pac1218 valvesprings into the yellow car with the 2005 5.3l motor and the reiners hotside and s476 billet turbo.
should be nuts! this is the best choice i think because this yellow car has the fuel system, rear, trans, and converter to go nuts already.

launching tricks and street slicks!
got my mickey Thompson drag radials today!
and i think i got this force to 3rd gear mod working awesome
i can brake stand 3800 without spinning the street tires on the smooth concrete in my garage, didnt try for more yet but that should help leave at the track hahah
i can flip a switch while staging to put the car into 3rd gear, so i can get the converter much higher, and hopefully launch harder when i flip the switch and it goes back into first

isky cam track pass 10.74 @ 135
well corey and i loaded up the car, drove 1.5 hours down to Etown raceway, tech'd in and we lined up to race, i drove the car this time, it started to drizzle so i figured whatever happens ill just stay in it to get the mph.
first pass i didnt brake stand enough but it is my first pass in the car haha, it went 10.74 @ 135mph, we dont have any other instrumentals because they were pissed i went that fast and refused to give me a time slip. we think it was a 1.8x you can see how soft it was.
other than that awesome that the car picked up an easy 9mph in the 1/4 with just the cam swap.
crazy
here is video corey shot with his cell phone, best i can do.
